    Description

Framed Bunka Embroidery of Famous Japanese Geisha Woodblock Print - Circa 80's
This beautifully executed bunka embroidery of a famous woodblock print of a Japanese Geisha was completed in the late 1980’s. The bunka work was carried out with a background of gold thread, with the geisha dressed in a classic kimono of olive green with orange lining and trim. She wears a hair style (Sakkō) with numerous decorative embellishments, typical of those worn by geisha at the end of their apprenticeships.
