This fabulous mouthpiece is marked NY CLASSIC but experienced players will recognize it as the venerable and popular Giardinelli 10S.
Today, GIARDINELLI is perhaps best known as the house brand of Music & Arts, primarily representing student instruments. But the history of the company is rich in lore: Robert Giardinelli was an Italian immigrant who ran a successful business in his upstairs shop in midtown Manhattan where he did repairs, custom work and made mouthpieces. His products and services were widely used by working players, and his mouthpiece designs were highly influential -- inspiring countless future mouthpiece makers such as Warburton, Marcinkiewicz, and Kanstul.
This mouthpiece was created by Kanstul from a scan of an original 10S, and is considered to be quite accurate. Excellent craftsmanship and quality. Basic specs: Rim diameter 16.00 mm, shallow cup, #27 throat on a one-piece Giardinelli blank.
